- In my own words:
Hi, I have to be honest, I'm a nervous about registering! I am happily divorced, with 4 sons, aged 27,24,21 and 12yrs of age - not all at home! We are great friends and have fun times. I am a big Formula One fan (#TeamLH), love football/soccer and enjoy a wide variety of music. I'm not sporty (rubbish knees!) but am working on my core, again!
I had rectal cancer in 2007/8 and have a permanent colostomy. In 2015, I had a partial gastrectomy to remove a tumour and in October 2016 had surgery to refashion my stoma - my poor stomach ain't pretty! But hey,I've come through it all! I used to be a nurse but Occupational Health have 'written me off' so I'm kind of finding myself again. I am very happy, content and take life a day at a time - always forward!
It would be fab to meet someone who 'gets it' - life with a stoma. For sure,we aim to live a normal life (whatever this thing called normal is!) but there are always those unpredictable moments where I truly don't believe anymore without a stoma would get!
My dream is to visit the USA - we haven't been able to travel for years,so that's the dream. For my gaming boys, a visit to Nintendo world and to play Pokémon Go on the other side of the pond, would definitely be a big plus in their memory bank! We've come through a lot together and I am hopeful that maybe now it's time for me to have someone in my life - for me! I am loving, loyal and respectful and would love to start a new chapter in my life.
Wow... I stayed offline for months, hit the “no confidence” button! Not much has changed, except my rubbish knees! But, I still smile a lot, laugh a lot...life is for living, but would be wonderful to share it too!
